The Chairman agreed to write to Mr Crossley, who is Chair of the Area East Community Safety Action Panel to request the use of their mobile CCTV for use over a period of a couple of weeks within the village. (Mr Hobhouse arrived at 8.05pm) It was also agreed that leaflets would be distributed to residents of North Cadbury advising them of the phone number to report any further incidents. (The PCSOs left the meeting at 8.10pm).
4. Declarations of Interest: None.
5. Comments from the Public: A question was raised regarding declarations of interests in relation to the recently-established Parish Trust and it was agreed to look into this.
6. County and District Matters: None.
7. Traffic Regulation Order and Speed Limit Signs: Mr Hobhouse advised the PC that if they wished to apply for a stand-alone speed limit scheme through North Cadbury they were able to do so. Mr Hobhouse offered a Grant of £2000 from his County Council budget towards the total cost of £4000; the PC agreed to apply to the Area East Parish Plan Implementation Fund for a matching Grant. The PC agreed to decide upon the most suitable locations for the speed limit signs during April, and would then hold a public meeting at which it was hoped that parishioners would approve the Scheme. Mr Hobhouse advised that the PC should wait until a later date before it applied for an upgrade to a 20mph limit outside the school. The Chairman thanked Mr Hobhouse for his assistance in this matter.
8. School Parking and Access: Mrs Wood advised the PC that North Cadbury Village Hall Committee could not support the “Walking Bus” scheme proposed by the School as it would inhibit users of the Hall and the tenants of the Village Hall Cottage. The Chairman informed the PC that he had met with the teachers to discuss alternative parking arrangements and was looking into finding suitable off-street parking for the full-time staff.
10. Annual Parish Council Meetings: It was agreed that members of the village organisations would again be invited to the Yarlington and North Cadbury Annual Parish meetings.
